The forum will discuss the initiative of the Department, beginning last year, to sustain and advance Africana Studies and ethnic studies as a whole at CSULB. The strong support gained from a variety of sources, the resultant Chancellor’s statewide moratorium on any negative changes to ethnic studies, and the formation of a Task Force to deal with critical issues concerning ways and means of advancement will be discussed among various professors in the Departments of Africana Studies, American Indian Studies Program, Chicano and Latino Studies, and Asian and Asian American Studies.
