Call for Papers: First-Annual College of Liberal Arts Research Showcase

February 4, 2013

As one of the preeminent universities in the CSU system, California State University, Long Beach boasts an expansive and innovative College of Liberal Arts with a holistically engaging and student-driven faculty. Together, these faculty scholars help mentor and educate rising undergraduates and graduates into the world of academia and cutting-edge research. As the first annual Research Showcase, this symposium aims to highlight the most creative and scholarly research currently being done by students within the college, as well as expose the local and global contributions that the liberal arts are making to our evolving society.

As an interdisciplinary conference about student research in the liberal arts, the Research Showcase welcomes abstracts that explore any field or topic related to an academic department within the CLA. Papers and posters from all disciplines will be eligible for selection. All undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts are invited to submit a one-page abstract (250 words) to research@csulbclasc.org. Submitted abstracts must be associated with an academic department or program within the CLA for consideration. All abstracts are due by Friday, March 15, 2013 for review by the selection committee.
