Department of History Presents Guest Speaker Dr. Moshe Naor

Screen Shot 2013-10-24 at 10.19.41 AMCSULB’s Jewish Studies Program is pleased to present Dr. Moshe Naor at the Alpert JCC on Wednesday evening, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.  His talk is entitled “Middle Eastern Jews and the Arab-Israeli Conflict.”
In his talk, Dr. Naor will examine the influence of the Arab-Israeli conflict on the Jewish communities of the Middle East while placing in the context of the current discussion in Israel on the exodus of Jews from Arab countries as immigrants and refugees.
Dr. Naor is the Leichtag Visiting Israeli Scholar at San Diego State’s Jewish Studies Program.  He received his Ph.D. in History from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has taught Israeli history at a number of universities in Britain, Canada, and the United States.  His book, Social Mobilization in the Arab-Israeli War of 1948:  On the Israeli Home Front will be published by Routledge Press.
