2016-17 Economics Department Scholarships

The 2016-17 Economics Scholarship opportunities are currently available and the application deadline is Monday, March 14, 2016 by 12:00pm noon. Please review the “Economics Scholarship Criteria 2016-17” listed below for information to determine if you qualify to apply for an Economics scholarship. If you meet the criteria and wish to apply, please complete the “Economics Scholarship Application Form and Instructions”.

Economics Scholarship Criteria 2016-17

Settlemyer Family Scholarship – $750

  • Current CSULB student majoring in Economics for semester receiving scholarship
  • Undergraduates must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 units with upper division status
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Financial need is a criterion. Applicant must provide Federal Student Aid FAFSA electronic SAR Report, demonstrating financial need or comparable proof.

Gene R. Simonson Scholarship – $1100

  • Current CSULB student majoring or minoring in Economics for semester receiving scholarship
  • Undergraduates with junior or senior class status enrolled in a minimum of 12 units
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Ray & Marge Lancaster Scholarship – $1750 undergrad, $2000 grad

  • Current CSULB undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Economics for semester receiving scholarship
  • Undergraduates must be enrolled in 12 units; graduates must be enrolled in 6 units
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Financial need is a criterion. Applicant must provide Federal Student Aid FAFSA electrionic SAR Report, demonstrating financial need or comparable proof.

Simonson Economics Department Scholarship – $500

  • Current CSULB student majoring or minoring in Economics for semester receiving scholarship
  • Undergraduates with junior or senior class status enrolled in a minimum of 12 units
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Powell Endowed Scholarship – TBA

  • Current CSULB undergraduate or graduate student student majoring in Economics for semester receiving scholarship
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

**Seniors graduating in May 2016 are not eligible to apply.**
