Wet, Sandy Feet

June 12, 2012

Many new faces provided me with warm greetings when I arrived at CSULB.  The size of the campus left me feeling small, but the people made me feel welcomed.  An unreliable memory meant that I had to ask for names multiple times; everyone was understanding as I was not the only one with a faulty memory.

We got an overview of the project from Dr. Lee and Dr. Lipo.  Needless to say, this was much needed because most of us were unsure about what exactly we would be doing for the next four weeks.  Dr. Lee provided us with pictures of the National Tropical Botanical Garden which raised excitement in all.  Then we took care of formalities, such as loading programs onto our computers, getting student IDs, and moving into our dorm rooms.  Later in the evening, the students decided to celebrate our commencement by venturing to 2nd street to explore and relax.  Before we left to go back to CSULB, we were sure to properly greet the Pacific Ocean by dipping our feet into the water.
