Congratulations to Dr. Paul Laris who was recently awarded $250,000 by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to study brush fires in the African country of Mali. Dr. Laris’ research is focused on studying the emissions produced by human ignited brush fires through both data collection in the field and use of remotely sensed imagery for spatial analysis of burn patterns. More information on Dr. Laris’s research and NSF grant can be found at the CSULB News @ the Beach link below.
