Dr. Briegel continues to be co-director of the Virtual Oral/Aural History Archive.  The site has “migrated” to a new “platform.”   Currently she is working with Sherna Berger Gluck, VOAHA’s founder, to try and restore as many of its former functions as possible.

Recently she finished, “The Liquidation of Alamitos Land Company, 1988-2011;” the company printed it, along with my history of their first century, and deposited all of the records they had preserved since 1888 at the Huntington Library.

She still serves on the board of the Historical Society of Long Beach where she recently participated in assembling and curating an exhibit about the history of the local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities.  Of course she coordinated the collection of oral history interviews, and conduced some, since written records are almost non-existent.  HSLB is collecting photos, documents, ephemera and other materials to create an archive to support future research on local LGBT history.

Finally, as she acknowledges the 50th anniversary of her graduation from Long Beach State College (BA, 1964), she continues her interest in the campus’ history, and how it relates to the development of Long Beach.
