2007 Dr. Panda’s presentation at CSULB

On June 25th, 2007, the Center hosted a presentation by Dr. Minati Panda, Associate Professor of Social Pyschology of Education at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. A visiting Fulbright fellow at University of California, San Diego, Dr. Panda’s current research involves documenting and analyzing various mathematical experiences of the Saoras (an indigenous community from southern Orissa in India) from a cultural psychological perspective. Dr. Panda’s presentation at CSULB was titled As-if Discourse, Intersubjectivity and Mathematics Learning in Saora Schools: Swapping Between Two Discourse Foci.
