Distinguished Guest Speaker Amana Fontanella-Khan, contributor to Slate; the Daily Best; the New York Times; Foreign Policy; the Christian Science Monitor; and former contributing editor at Vogue India, will present her lecture titled “Pink Sari Revolution: How to Achieve Female Empowerment in India.” Before starting her journalism career, she worked in Bollywood as an Assistant Director on a documentary covering Indian contemporary art. She has lived in Austria, France, Spain, England, India, and is currently living in Belgium. Her book Pink Sari Revolution was awarded the BBC Radio 4 Book of The Week and was listed as one of the Top 100 Books of 2013 by The San Francisco Chronicle.
Reception will begin at 6 p.m., and the lecture will begin at 7 p.m. Attire will be business casual.
