Ana Canela

Ana Canela has worked for more than 25 years as an administrative assistant in medical and educational organizations, including Saint Mary’s in Long Beach, Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Long Beach City College and California State University, Dominguez Hills. She joined the Department of Journalism & Public Relations in 2017. Canela also owned a floral shop for more than 15 years and continues to create floral designs for special events such as weddings.

Canela holds a bachelor’s degree in Chicano-Latino studies from CSULB. She is an active volunteer at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, the Spanish American Institute, the Museum of Latin American Art, Rancho Los Alamitos, and the Walk to End Lupus. Born and raised in Long Beach, she currently lives in Downey with her husband, George.
