Professor Lewis S. Ringel, Director of CSULB Moot Court

Lewis Ringel is a native born New Yorker who grew up in New Jersey. Professor Ringel participated in moot court, serving as a judge, while an undergraduate at Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey). Professor Ringel earned his doctorate from the University of Maryland at College Park. He has run moot court simulations at the United States Naval Academy, Louisiana State University, and at CSULB. Professor Ringel served as co-director of the CSULB moot court program from 2002-2005 and became director in 2006. He has authored, and co-authored, several articles on moot court and is contributing author to How to Please the Court: A Moot Court Handbook. In 2011, Professor Ringel was invited to join the Joseph A. Ball/Clarence S. Hunt Inn of Court. He is one of the few non-lawyers to become a member of the Inn. Professor Ringel has two children both of whom have attended moot court tournaments and for whom he has high hopes as future mooters-to-be.
