Sleep in Normal Aging and Pathological Populations

Presenter: Snia Ancoli-Israel, Ph.D., UCSD

Dr. Ancoli-Israel is one of the nation’s preeminent experts in the field of sleep disorders and sleep research in aging. Her current interests include the logitudinal effect of sleep disorders on aging, the effect of circadian rhythms on sleep, therapeutic interventions for sleep problems in dementia, and fatigue, particularly the relationship between sleep, fatigue and circadian rhythms in cancer and other chronic illnesses. Dr. Ancoli-Israel is published regularly in medical and psychiatric journals with close to 300 publications in the field.

    Psych Day will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the Psychology Building Quad. Festivities include a graduate and volunteer fair, workshops, games and special speakers, beginning at 10:00 am. A buffet lunch will be offered for a small donation from 11:00 until 2:00. The keynote speaker, Dr. Collie Conoley, will present his research on Goal Focused Positive Psychotherapy at 4:00 pm in the Beach Auditorium.
