Apply now to join Psi Chi – Psychology Honor Society!
Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.
Students applying must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and a Psychology GPA of at least 3.4. Students must be psychology majors or minors with at least 12 units in Psychology.
The Fall 2016 application cycle is complete. Spring 2017 applications will be available in February 2017.
You will start by applying online to the National Psi Chi organization: https://www.psichi.org/
Then complete the CSULB application HERE and return to the PRO Office, Psy 206. Use the checklist psi-chi-application-checklist and instructions on accessing your Psy GPA how-to-access-your-psych-major-gpa. Make your $65.00 check payable to Dr. Danielle Kohfeldt and include other paperwork requested.
Students must submit $65* along with the application and college transcripts (unofficial accepted) to be considered for membership. The dues will be spent accordingly: $55 for lifetime National membership, $5 for Long Beach Chapter, and $5 for the Chapter Activity Fund. Applicants who do not qualify for membership will be refunded the dues.
We induct both our new Fall and Spring Psi Chi members in a traditional candlelight ceremony during the Spring at the Psych Banquet (date TBA). Please bring your family and join us as we celebrate your new beginnings as a Psi Chi member. Feel proud as we bestow you your pin and certification and formally induct you into a nationally recognized psychology honor society.
