Research Interests

Claire Emilie Martin’s research concentrates on nineteenth-century cultural and literary studies with a special emphasis on gender issues. She is particularly interested in women’s ways of knowing and writing about domesticity, education, politics and travel. Her work as contributing editor on contemporary Argentinean literature for the Handbook of Latin American Studies has led to publications on fiction preoccupied issues of memory, amnesia, and the rewriting of Argentinean history over the last thirty years.
