Research Interests

Rita Palacios’s research largely focuses on contemporary Maya literature and culture from Guatemala, and her approach and theoretical considerations draw on cultural, gender, socio-anthropological, post-colonial, and trans-national studies. Since she is most interested in the role that gender and ethnicity play in the production of minor literatures, some of her recent work extends to queer and feminist literature and culture in Latin America and the Caribbean.
