Sociology Alumni Spotlight: Jarrett Robert Rose

The Department of Sociology congratulates Jarrett Rose. Jarrett is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology at York University, where he is specializing in theory and mental health.

Recently, Jarrett published a timely article that makes sociological connections between trauma, PTSD, and mental health to the ongoing human rights crisis facing migrant children and incarcerated youth. Jarrett’s article, “I’ve Seen the Lasting Emotional Damage to Detained Children”, has already been viewed over 1,300 times. Click here, to read it.

Jarrett Robert Rose is currently the 2016 International Ph.D. Student in the Department of Sociology at York University in Toronto, Canada. After receiving his B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach, he continued his academic pursuits at San Diego State University where he taught Introduction to Sociology, was elected President of the Sociology Graduate Student Committee, and received his M.A.
