Wilford is a professor in CSULB’s Department of History. His research interests include U.S. Intellectual History, History of the American Left, The CIA and the “Cultural Cold War,” and Americanization and Anti-Americanism. He received his B.A. from Bristol University and his Ph.D. from Exeter University. Wilford’s publications include The Mighty Wurlitzer: How the CIA Played America, The U.S. Government, Citizen Groups, and the Cold War: The State-Private Network, The CIA, the British Left, and the Cold War: Calling the Tune?, and The New York Intellectuals: From Vanguard to Institution.
