The Hon. Doug Drummond (BA, 1970, College of Liberal Arts) has been appointed by the Mayor of Long Beach to the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners. He was with the Long Beach Police Department for over 25 years and was also a former Vice Mayor. He most recently served on the Board of Directors for the Long Beach Transportation Company.

Melissa Ohta Walker (BA, 2001, College of Liberal Arts) was hired as the Assistant Coach of the University of Arizona’s Women’s Volleyball Team. She was previously the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Volleyball Team at CSULB.

Robert Meeks (BA, 2008, College of Liberal Arts) was promoted to Online Editor for the Long Beach Press Telegram. Prior to working at Long Beach Press Telegram he wrote for the Orange County Register, The Compton Bulletin and the Inglewood Tribune.
