The Morality of the Death Penalty

Dr. Shafer-Landau will argue that there is no compelling moral justification for the death penalty.
Professor Shafer-Landau received his Ph.D. in philosophy with a concentration in ethics and politics from the University of Arizona. He is the author of Moral Realism: A Defence (Oxford UP, 2003), Whatever Happened to Good and Evil? (Oxford UP, 2004), and a great number of well-known papers. He is also the editor of the journal, Oxford Studies in Metaethics, as well as several anthologies concerning ethical theory.
